You can never run two such appliances on the same circuit. Have an electrician run a new circuit for one of the appliances.

Please try again later.You need to find an outlet that is on a different breaker than the one the current side by side is plugged into (which sounds like a 15 amp circuit - because a 20 amp circuit should handle both the fridge and the freezer; my freezer is plugged into the same circuit as another large chest freeze without any problem). The appliance extension cord should not be a problem because the freezer does not draw that much current and should not cause a significant voltage drop at the freezer, assuming the extension cord uses 14 gauge conductors and isn't longer than 50 foot or so.
