It is recommended to plug the unit into its own dedicated 115 Volt, 60 Hz., 15 Amp, AC only electrical outlet. Avoid connecting the unit to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit. If the garage has a GFCI breaker box for the entire building, this unit will need a dedicated non-GFCI breaker in the box for this refrigerator. - Kailey

Please try again later.Some newer refrigerators have specific power requirements requiring a dedicated GFCI breaker for its circuit to be installed in the breaker panel, with that being the only load for its circuit. It’s usually due to power requirements, and all the electronics in the refrigerator that are sensitive to power spikes. Usually top freezer don’t require that, but it’s just another level of safety.
