Did you buy the fridge new? If so, read the owner’s manual because it should explain this problem and how to fix it. My older GE fridge does the same thing. It’s a problem with poor design of modern refrigerators. The drain for the defrost function in the freezer is clogged. Pull out the meat drawer at bottom of freezer. look behind it. see the little tray with the drain hole? that hole goes to a tube that drains into a plastic tray under the fridge. the tube gets clogged with dust and then the water backs up and freezes. Also, sometimes things get pushed over the back of the meat drawer and fall over the hole, blocking it. Pour hot water down the drain to melt the ice. You might need to do this several times. Ideally, pull fridge out, remove back cardboard, clean all of the dust clumps out of the tray and clear the drain tube. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
