“I have a few questions: 1. How does the water drain out? Does it drop out the back to the outside, or, does the water stay inside the unit because it is tilted? 2. Does this 6000 BTU unit have a "dry" mode or "dehumidify" mode?”

This unit is meant for the the water to puddle up and the fan splash water on its components to cool it off. Terrible idea in my opinion. I did drill a hole in the bottom where the water puddles and put a a drain adapter. If you just let the water puddle, it will make a loud water splashing noise which is very irritating. There is a hole right below the compressor for condensation, but it only drips a little.

You want to be sure the drain hole or slots are not caulked or painted shut. Also, we were able to see that it has a dehumidification feature, which dehumidifies 1.3 pints of water out of the air per hour. Hope this helps! –Thanks!-
