“How far away from the wall does the unit need to sit to allow space for the vent? My closet is only 32.5" deep - that only leaves 1 extra inch. Will that be enough space?”

The vent outlet is inset on the dryer. The dryer cover sticks out further then the back of the washer allowing the unit to be very close to the wall. As long as your vent outlet is lower then the dryer 1” should be fine.
