• Hi Paula! When the bottom tray is full, you will possibly receive a “P1” message on your display. Which will alert you to drain the tray. You would carefully move the air conditioner to a drain location, remove the bottom drain plug and let the water drain away. During the dehumidifying mode, you will need a garden hose (sold separately) to drain the condensate from the unit.I hope this helps! -Thanks!-

• All the time. I have a bucket because I live in the 2nd floor, had to put the pipe in the bucket and collect it at the end of the day. It may not be really full but depends on how often you use it
