“I'm looking for a portable a/c that does not have to be vented (exhaust hose out of window). Does such a thing exist? My bedroom (where I need the a/c) only has one window in bad location which is why I don't use a window unit.”

Portable ACs have to be vented to discharge the hot air outside otherwise the room gets hot even with the AC on. The exhaust connection doesn't stick out of the window line, so as long as there is some area nearby the window to put the AC and to run exhaust connection up to the window, you should be able to use it, otherwise you have to rely on fans or coolers only.
