“Set on "cool," P1 appears every hour. I'm having to drain it constantly. Is this normal? How long should it typically run before I need to drain it? Is frequent draining a malfunction or am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't it evaporate?”

This unit does not self evaporate. You will be constantly draining the water and dumping it. If you happen to live in a humid house or location you will need to empty it several times a day.

If for any reason the bottom tray gets full, you will possibly receive a “P1” message on your display; which will alert you to drain the tray. As the air conditioner pulls in moisture out of the air, this would happen. We hope this helps! -Thanks!-
