“I have this unit that I put in last summer and I find it delightful but it doesn't seem to be cooling as well a year later. Does it need to have some kind of maintenance? Or perhaps additional Freon?”

If you’re noticing any cooling concerns, there are a few things you can easily check. First, make sure the filter is clean and clear. Then, ensure nothing is blocking or impeding air from the front, back, or sides of the appliance. You can also try readjusting the louvers to ensure no air is deflecting back into the appliance from the nearby walls and ceiling. Normal maintenance for air conditioners should just be general care/cleaning, proper storage when not in use, and making sure the product is installed correctly.
