Q: QuestionAs someone previously asked What adjustable panel goes above the unit to the top of the window??? Can you providw a picture ? Does it come out of the top as an accordion or is it in box ?

• A:Answer The frame for the panel slides into rails on the side of the air conditioner, so the height can be adjusted. The panel itself must be cut to fit. They recommend a small saw, but I cut mine with a sharp box cutter.

• A:Answer No, you could make a small panel to fill the gap, using good thick plexiglass, perhaps have it professionally cut - tedious with a hand scorer to cut it. I use plexiglass instead of filler panels. Sometimes taping window film over plexiglass to make it look great. Generally though, you can find higher efficiency standard window ac’s that will fit unless you want a taller ac like this for a reason, such as providing privacy- these casement acs are Generally for sliding windows.

Q: QuestionI have this unit that I put in last summer and I find it delightful but it doesn't seem to be cooling as well a year later. Does it need to have some kind of maintenance? Or perhaps additional Freon?

Then, ensure nothing is blocking or impeding air from the front, back, or sides of the appliance. We see the required dimensions for proper installation are listed as follows: 15-1/2″ minimum width, 16-1/4″ maximum width (for casement windows), 21-1/2″ minimum height (with window panel retainer), 20-5/16″ minimum height (window panel retainer removed) and 40 maximum height.
