It usually gets cold overnight if your plugging it in the night before and I have mine set to 4 gives a great chill.

It took my fridge a little over 24 hrs to start chilling the contents in the fridge but it produced a light ice sheet on the back of the fridge so I knew that it was functioning. Mines is in my bedroom. 6 should be sufficient for the garage due to heat and moisture.

You can then adjust the setting to a level that works best for your environment and the items you have in stock. Higher numbers on the dial will be colder, and lower numbers will be warmer. If it is in a non-temperature-controlled garage, we would recommend adjusting it to the coldest setting. Outside temperatures lower than 50 degrees or higher than 110 degrees Fahrenheit may affect the cooling process. ~Ashton
