For proper cooling/ventilation, the manual specifies that the unit have clearances of 3 inches at the top and sides and 4 inches in the rear. So the answer is, no, not like a dishwasher.

The sides & top must allow 3 inches and the back must allow 4 inches. If you are looking to install under a cabinet, these clearances are required.
