Hello Frigidaire Shopper! The range hood FHPC4260LS can be mounted to a wall or installed as an island hood. You are able to install the hood over a 48 inch range except it may not remove all the smoke that comes from the space of the range. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
