Not sure what you mean by slide-in. Nevertheless, it is absolutely free-standing - it needs no support from anything other than the floor. Be aware that the sides are not stainless steel but black powder-coated steel. Some folks call it slide-in because you can literally just slide it across the floor into its place. Also, it comes with a anti-tip bracket that can be installed on the floor or the wall behind.
