Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We have used this model for many years in a 1500 sq ft basement of a vacation home. Basement humidity was always maintained @ 55% where it was set. Door from main floor to basement was left open (no A/C in the home) only when we were absent for a week or more and then the main floor humidity was also well kept at 55% during our absence (all interior doors were left open for ventilation). Entire square footage was never tested when the home was occupied with showers, cooking, etc because then upstairs windows and doors are subject to frequent opening as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a 3 story house, De-humidifier in the basement. Doors closed between the various floors but AC (when on) goes to all levels. Having the single dehumidifier in the basement make a noticeable difference in how comfortable the house is, particularly on very humid, or days that aren't hot enough to have the AC on a lot.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Our basement has a room that is approximately 24 x 40 and I sit it just outside of my mechanical closet that is below grade. So far it has severed its purpose by pulling out the damp smell and I run a piece of cut water hose to my pump off the ac unit to discharge the water. You can definitely move it around the house with that said I would get a 5 gallon bucket from the hardware store to catch the water and check on it periodically
