“Loud "rattling" when compressor isn't running? Does anyone else have issues with this unit being inconsistently loud when the fan only is running? There's a strange, erratic rattling when it's just the fan. When the compressor kicks in it's by no means quiet, but a consistent noise that isn't nearly as bothersome.”

• Check to see if the front grate where the air filter is located is loose. While the AC is rattling simply hold your hand against the grate. If the noise stops you have found your problem. You can then switch to a thicker spongy filter that will take up the excess space. Hope it helps.

• SOUNDS LIKE THERES A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM IVE HAD MINE FOR TWO MONTHS WORKS GREAT NO NOISE RUNS VERY QUIET IN FACT YOU SHOULD PROBABLY RETURN IT TO STORE

• No problem with fan only. Just loud. I agree that the combined fan and compressor sound is too loud..
