how do you get the long cord used for emptying null

If you are referring to the drain hose, a regular garden hose will work. Just measure the distance to your floor drain to determine the proper length and pick one up at any hardware store. No special hose is needed, though a couple of dehumidifier manufacturers market their own. Save some money & just pick up a regular garden hose.

Since it was not included in the purchased product, you probably need to purchase it as a add-on part from Best Buy or Frigidaire.

I used a piece of hose, cut to desired length

It's just a regular hose attachment on the pump. Go buy a garden hose. Amazon has some 5' hoses cheap.

We bought a hose at the hardware store. Just make sure you get the right male/female connection needed to hookup to the dehumidifier.
