Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the 70-Pint Dehumidifier's performance, noise level, humidity control, and ease of use, with many praising its effectiveness at removing moisture and its quiet operation. However, customers are negative about the small water tank capacity, which requires frequent emptying, and some express concerns regarding the warranty coverage. The price is also mentioned favorably by some users. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative comments on the water tank and warranty.

Have used the unit for one month. Installed in unfinished basement approx 1600 square feet. Reduced humidity quickly! Took a spare washing machine hose and connected to the unit so that the water flows directly into floor drain - handy! Satisfied so far!

This was an amazing dehumidifier for two years, it was a wonder the first season, plugged it in and drip drip drip drip, in 24 hours I believe we made the 70 pints in the bowl under the machine, by day three the musty smell was gone. In two weeks, I ordered one for my sister, then 1 month later, one for my father in law. This tells you how great this unit was. Then for the past 3 weeks, it's been FO, FO and more FOs, I have goggled to no end, cleaned the filter, cleaned the sensor, vacuumed coils, re-plugged, reset filter control, but can't seem to shake of the FO error. Sent email to manufactuer waiting on reply What does this mean? Okay to buy, but realize: 1, it's a 1-2 season wonder (see reviews online for yourself on bestbuy, amazon, homedepot) there is even a class action law suit, am sure I will get my money if the judge rules against manufacturer. 2, By a 4 (preferably a 5) year protection plan, there will be an FO in your future, this is a fact, at least you won't be out another 250 dollars like me now. 3, Frigidaire has lost my family's business, so nothing from Frigidaire comes to my house ever again, note that I bought two additional units for family after I bought mine. 4, Repeated, but a 4 or 5 year protection plan from a reputable company and keep ypur receipt handy. You will need it.

Bought this 7/24/17, used a few times 2017 and a few more 2018. By spring of 2019, it no longer worked whereas it would simply display F0 a few minutes after operation and remain stuck there. Unplug and plug in again? Nope, 1 minute later F0... For only being used a handful of times, I'm not only disappointed but sweaty.... I contacted their customer service and they're going to send me a replacement after jumping through all their hoops with serial number packaging, cord cutting, printing, scanning and picture taking.... Overall the product gets a 1, but their customer service is replacing the unit free of charge so they are getting a 2. (should've been a 1.5 option, see hoop jumping above)

Recovering from 2-1/2' of water in my house from Hurricane Harvey, I needed help with moisture and smell. Based on the many positive reviews on this Frigidare 70 PT dehumidifier I decided to give it a try. Super simple to use (64 year old female) right out of the box. Getting it out of the box was the hardest part..packed very well and quite heavy! The unit is on wheels and a handle so wheeled it straight into first room to start drying it out. Mind you my walls are stripped down to the studs so no interior blocks or doors. There is no standing water anywhere, fans have been running for 5 weeks so all "looks" dry. I Plugged the unit in at 11PM and checked it at 9AM next morning. It had pulled almost a full 70 Pints (8 gallons) out of that one large room. We are on the TX Gulf Coast so we live with high humidity 98% of the time. This room feels amazing, dryer than I've felt in awhile and air feels clean. I'm going back to purchase another for the back part of the house! It's very, very simple to operate, easy instructions and easy to dump the basin (or you can opt to run continuous drain line). Awesome product!!

This dehumidifier performs great! Removes a lot of moisture, and quickly! The noise level is low in comparison to other units / brands. Fresh, updated style. Likes: +works well to remove a lot of moisture, quickly +looks good +low noise level +works well at low temps +great for basements - makes the space very comfortable as it also outputs some warm exhaust air (no more chilly finished basement) dislikes: None, really...but if I have to get picky: - bucket is undersized, fills up fast if not using a direct drain hose (I empty mine twice daily) - humidistat seems off (but I simply adjust the setting if needed)

I'm the director of a small museum. This year has been more humid than usual, added to that we had a hail storm that took out windows. Our maps and books were in danger of developing mold and mildew. I was concerned about setting up the dehumidifier and monitoring it in case the bucket overflowed. It was so easy to set up. The controls were simple and the instruction book was easy to follow. It's been working continuously for two weeks. The bucket is easy to remove. The unity looks nice and it is quiet. It took out the extra moisture and has kept the humidity at the level I set.

Our basement would average about 55% to 60% with previous dehumidifiers. With this baby it easily brought it down to 40% in about 12 hours. I conducted an experiment to see how low it was able to get the humidity. 25 to 30% and then I stopped.... Very very capable machine. Yes, it's pretty quiet and easy to operate and empty. No constant hose really required. The reservoir is a good size, I only have to empty it about every 3 days or so. I hope this helps with your decision, great product and NO issues!

I read many reviews and articles before I settled on this one. We've got a 1500 sqft. unfinished basement in Georgia where the humidity is outrageous and this thing dropped it from 60% humidity down to 40% in four or five days and then all the way down to 35% in a week. Before, you could smell a damp musty odor. I wasn't sure it would be able to handle it by itself but it passed the test with flying colors and now it smells dry and there's not even a hint of odor in the air. Probably would be better on the power bill if we had another one down there as our bill went up $25-35 dollars or so but it can definitely handle it. I do wish it had side air intake and top ventilation, for convenience, as it makes it hard to figure out where to put the thing....You can't put it too close to the wall or anything like that. As far as noise level goes....it sounds (on the highest setting) like a table fan on low speed. Overall, it's a great unit and I may buy another so what does that tell ya.

Great at pulling moisture out of the room quickly and then we use the water collected for the potted plants on the porch. Highly recommend the unit easy to move around with the wheels simple to empty would not say quiet running but it is not crazy noisy. We have one we move around where we need it the other dedicated to our storage area and have it using the hose to run the water outside through the drain pipe so we never have to empty that one.

My old dehumidifier finally gave out after four years, so after extensive research, I went with this model. Wow, am I glad I did. During the most humid times, my crawl space humidity level was always around 50-55% even with the setting at 35%. We would also get the musty smell through our vents. Then, I bought this model. Within a few hours of turning this on, my crawl space humidity went from 65% to 45%. It consistently sits at whatever I put the unit now (most of the time 40%). As a unit that is on 24/7, I love the fact the unit automatically shuts off when the humidity reaches its desired level. My previous unit just ran non stop. Also, that musty smell in our crawl space....GONE! Yes, this is just a dehumidifier, but there have been few electronics purchases I have ever made that I've been more satisfied with. I would recommend this unit to anyone with a crawl space/basement. This thing is a miracle worker!

This unit is relatively quiet and it removes water like it is getting rid of Niagara Falls. After 5 hours the container was full and then full again every 5 hours. I subsequently put the drain hose on this so I wouldn't have to keep draining this. This has significantly removed the humidity from my basement in a short period of time. Now my air conditioner is working like it is supposed to and not fighting the humidity that is rising from the basement. My house is like a dream. I thought I was living in a different home. My humidity ranges from 43% to 45% around my house and the feeling is amazing. Many times during the day we can now turn the air conditioning thermostat 1 degree higher and we are still cold. If you want to change the environment in your home then buy this unit at it pulls an incredible amount of moisture/water from the basement. There will be no regrets and you will love this.

This is a replacement for another Frigidaire that lasted over a decade. So far, it works very well. It is quieter than the previous model (also a 70-pint model) and very easy to empty, since when you take the filled tray out it sits squarely on the floor instead of tilted liked the old one. We have it in the basement and it keeps the area dry and smelling fresh. We run in continuously and empty it twice a day. We were without while in the process of buying a new one and you could immediately tell by how damp everything smelled. It is a must for a basement. This model got good reviews from Consumer Reports and although customer views were mixed, we decided to purchase anyway. So far we are very satisfied with this model.

I'm very pleased with the unit. It's very easy to setup and operate. Has a extremely sturdy handle on the top, which can slide down and hide out of the way. The handle is great when you need to lift it a little to roll it around on the wheels. I set the humidity setting to 50% or 55%. The fan shuts off when the right humidity level is obtained. A little white light on the front at the top will flash to let you know it's full. Very easy to empty. Once empty, pop the water holder back in, and it starts right back up. The air coming out the side is a little warm, and with it being in the basement, it does seem to keep the chill off the rooms. Overall, if you're needing a dehumidifier, you can't go wrong with this one.

Replaced a 50 pint Frigidaire dehumidifier which lasted over 5 years. Decided to get the 70 pint Frigidaire. I'm glad I did. This one doesn't run as often or as long to keep the humidity at 55% in a basement area of 1600 sq ft. I have it hooked up to a hose, so I don't need to empty the container, which is much smaller than the one on my old 50 pint. This could be a concern if you can't empty into a drain or sump hole. I have had this for about a month and so far I am very pleased with this unit.

Had my prior dehumidifier for over 20 years, so it was time for an upgrade. Bought this new energy efficient dehumidifier after reading online reviews. The smaller tank size is my only complaint (which was also the only complaint I found while doing research for this new model.) And the fact that my local electric company offered a $25 rebate on this new appliance was the icing on the cake. The unit is sleek in design and almost silent when running. I don't think I could have made a better choice.
