I to had the same code EC, unplugger the unit waited 15 mins. and plugged it back in. Next day same code. Call the number on the sticker on the back of the unit. It has the model# along with the Serial# and talk with customer service. They will send you an e-mail with instructions, follow the instructions and they will send you a new unit, all you have to do is remove the sticker and stick it on the instruction sheet and cut the cord. Take a picture of the cord and mail in the instruction sheet and they will send you a new unit. NO CHARGE!! They did not say what EC means but for a free new unit who cares!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had 4 of these replaced under warranty with the EC code. The EC code means the sealed system and condenser is defective and the unit is not repairable. The coils are either freezing and stop functioning or just not condensing at all. You can temporarily reset it by unplugging it, but the unit is going bad regardless and will quit functioning pretty quickly afterwards. Frigidaire warranties the sealed system for 5 years and will replace it for you, if you contact them. Unfortunately, these units are not particularly reliable as I have not had any unit last longer than 3 yrs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a chronic problem with Frigidaire dehumidifiers. I've had three units display the EC error. Frigidaire replaced the first two, but then refused to replace the third. Do not purchase Frigidaire appliances, especially its dehumidifiers. Search online for all of the customers complaining about EC errors. Stay away from this product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.9 months old ec code on dehumidier states frigadaire will replace do you replace them or where do i go
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The EC code is a condenser issue and is not repairable. My one year old unit model FFAD5033W1 just started showing this error. You can reset the unit by shutting power cycling the unit for 15 minutes but that usually allows it process humidity until the condenser begins to freeze again. After which the EC error code appears again. This is my second unit in 3 years. I would not ever never purchase a Frigidaire appliance again. If you are compelled to do so make sure you purchase an extend warranty of at least two years.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Replaced one that lasted almost 4 1/2 years. Got a replacement due to the EC. Means it's no longer taking humidity out of the air. Runs awhile, then stops. This one now dead. They go by original purchase date. So, it's now a heavy big doorstop. They will only replace once in a period of five years. The rep kept saying "but your warranty on the original one is expired." Doesn't matter the second died. So, basically I rented it for $50 a year. Don't waste your money, or if you do, just say you're getting the EC code and replace every two years, you might get lucky and get one that lasts for more than 12 months. Oh, the rep also hung up on me and sent me to the survey. As you can see from the pic, we're at 70% in the basement now. Awesome.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There should be a Class Action against Frigidaire on their dehumidifiers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have the same experience I did, as well as many, many others. Seems to be an irreparable issue with the condenser. I've tried three different times to get some help from Frigidaire on the issue, but they stick to their guns on you being just beyond the warranty period, and so their only offer is to sell you a new one. Sorry to anyone else who has this issue, but you're stuck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had one that worked great for 11 months, then EC code. They replaced promptly, that worked for about 11 months, then EC code. They said "well, we go by the original warranty so no more replacements for you." I asked, via chat, if this was a common problem and they said "no, no recalls on this unit." Nice dodge.....
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.terrible customer service from Fridgidaire about this machine. Our resolution is to throw it away and warn people to stay away from Fridgidaire products. We had a similar experience with a Fridgidaire Freezer. Poorly built products!!
