There is no water leakage if you don't use the dehumidier ("dry") mode. If you do use the dry mode, you have to periodically wheel the unit to someplace where you can attach a drain hose. The unit tells you on the display when you need to empty it. The outlet where the drain hose attached is normally plugged up with a plug that's supplied with the unit.
