This air conditioner runs at 52.5 decibels on the low end, which is equivalent to the sound of a coffee pot brewing, and 60.9 decibels on the high end which would sound similar to a normal conversation.

I's OK on the lowest fan settings but during heat wave, with fan on high, it's not possible to sleep. Also I did not feel that this unit cools any better than my 6000 BTU Sharp which is 7 years old. Hope to return it w/out a restocking fee to BB.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just purchased this unit today. It's 3am and the unit is preventing me from sleeping. It's way to loud for a bedroom and it does not cool off the room any better than the 5000 BTU that it replaced. I will be returning it to Best Buy later today.
