• I have this mounted in a wall and it works great. My wall is made of 2x4 studs. If you need to you can add two closet shelf knee brackets outside. They work very well.

• Hey there! Thank you for your inquiry. You are unable to connect an external thermostat. However, per the Installation Guide we were able to see that the Max wall thickness (BY) 8" and (BN) 8.25" We hope this helps! -Thanks!-

• No, there is not a way to connect an external thermostat. This unit is not a through-the-wall installation model. This unit installs in a window.
