Unless you have a Hummer, or large SUV, it's not going to fit in the trunk of your car. I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu and I was able to stick it far enough into my trunk to where it did not fall out on the way home. The trunk was open nearly all the way, but I tied it down as good as possible.
