“I would like to put in my garage and use as a freezer. There won't be any issue with cold temps in garage affecting freezing will there ? I have a fridge with top freeze and in the winter food in top thaws , as it doesn't kick on as much in winter .Thanks”

Hello Barnsee! When the refrigerator/freezer FGVU17F8QF is in its freezer operation temperatures as low as 32°F will not affect the operation. Temperatures above 110°F will cause improper operations within the appliance. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
