“Does this unit need extra clearance when you open the door? I'm not sure of the proper terminology, zero clearance maybe? It's when the door stays flush with the side of the fridge so you can have it right up against a wall.”

Hello Matt! We advise that when you install the refrigerator/freezer FGVU21F8QF adjacent to a wall, cabinet, or other appliance that extends beyond front edge of the appliance there needs to be a 20" minimum clearance. This is to have a door swing of 140°. With a minimum space of three inches this will allow you to have a 90° door swing and limited basket access with restricted removal.
