“We live in Florida with frequent power loss/surges. Is it true that after a power surge or outage that the default is for the unit to come on as a fridge and not a freezer, even if before the surge/outage it was set as a freezer?”

• I don't think the manufacturer's answer is correct. Mine arrived in freezer mode not fridge mode.

• Hey Kam! Once a power outage has occurred the refrigerator/freezer FGVU21F8QF will revert into the refrigerator setting. There is not a way to alter this, as this is how it is designed. We hope this information is helpful to you in your shopping experience. –Thanks!-
