• Flat NO. Leave about 1 1/2 inches.

• I have about a 2" gap in the back because of the water line shut off valve and copper tubing. I also have about a 1" gap at the top. The doors extend slightly above the body of the unit so there is no visible gap when looking directly at the unit.
