Please try again later.I can't speak to the gas line, but the electric cord is extra because, depending on the age of your house, and code in your part of the country, you may have either a 3 prong or a 4 prong electric outlet. Rather than include both, which would increase the cost (and be wasteful), they sell you the cord seperately, so that you can choose the right one. in any case, if they included the cord (gas line) you could rest assured that the price of the appliance would increase accordingly.

Electrical service is between your electrical company and you. Where you want your appliance to be placed is your responsibility making sure the outlets and gas line are available. If not, you need to tap the utility that tie in with your current utility system either do it yourself or contract a certified plumber (for gasline) or electrician (for electricity) - BestBuy are not your utility contractors. They are just selling appliances/equipment and connect them when proper connections are already available.
