• The units case is made to either be a window unit or the "sleeve" that goes through the wall. If you are replacing an old unit, the old sleeve may not work because of size differences. I hoped I would get lucky, but I had to use the new case because modifying the old one, because the new unit was smaller, would have been more work. I had the same confusion because of the description and almost ordered a new case!
