Please try again later.This is my second induction cooktop after 10 years of previous service with a GE that I mainly replaced because one element was broken and I was remodeling and wanted to maximize the chance of stove survival in new quartz. I love induction cooktops. They have many advantages. However, the mechanics of heating something are such that there is no way to avoid retained heat of a stove element post use. The letters “HE” should be lit for a short period of time to alert you that that part of the stove is temporarily hot.
