The important issue is that some refrigerators are designed to be built in, and I think this is designed to be free standing, which means the venting is not in front. So, be sure to allow for good venting of the unit if you build it in, or the unit will overheat and burn out.

It does make noise as it is plugged in to electricity and has a motor but it isn't too loud. I'm not bothered by the noise it makes. It is cute and will add a bit of nostalgia to your space.
