• I've never tried to charge it this way but it seems like it's the same thing as you charge the unit through ac outlet so I'd say yes, it can.

• No..This DashCam only works with the cigarette lighter plug. No USB. Garmin has a new DashCam that will be released shortly. It can hook up to USB and has a lot of cool new features. I would wait.
