No, you can view captured videos from the back of the Dash Cam but it's screen is very small. But you can download the VIRB mobile app onto your smartphone and then via BlueTooth, share videos on your Dash Cam on your smart phone (I use an iPhone). I also detach my Dash Cam and bring it into my office and using the included USB cable, attach the Dash Cam to my PC. It comes up as an attached device with folders for Photos, Saved Videos, Unsaved Videos and Timelapse Videos.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you don’t have to connect each time to the cameras WiFi, to view the photos. Go into your setting on your phone and select WiFi. A list of the possible WiFi networks will display as you already know. From this screen in the WiFi setting you can also select specific networks to “AUTO CONNECT” to each time you enter their field of range. WiFi range varies greatly on the power omitting the omni directional WiFi signal. While this device may have a short wifi range, the major benefit of this feature is the convenience of saving your videos instantly without removing the SD Card and connecting that to your computer or phone via a cable.
