Not sure about different voices, but it speaks very clearly and with multiple warnings as you get closer to a turn. If it is at a T in the road it will tell you to turn at the end of the road. It does have the lane assist which is very nice when in the city, the overhead signs are exactly as you will see and it has a big arrow in the lane that you need to be in. I love my Garmin it isn't as distracting as some others because you can see where you need to be.
