The battery life on this GPS device is up to 1 hour.

My recent experience is that after charging with a non-Garmin charger overnight, the unit would immediately go into a 15 second shutdown when removed from power. This unit would not turn on when new and connected to computer by Garmin cable, had to use charger first.
