• Get a mobile battery pack and it should work. The unit draws a fair amount of power so be sure to get a unit that will last while you drive. A second option would be to "hide" a 12 V plug somewhere in the classic car so it is available while you drive, but can't be seen when you are showing it.

• You do not have to have a mobile phone, but you will at the very least, need a power supply. Just about any gps will need some source of power. Installation of a cigarette lighter power point is fairly simple. Even in a collector's car I would think, mounted behind the dash, inside glovebox, or anywhere hidden should be acceptable.
