They should be able to. My guess is that you need to go into the settings on the Garmin and make sure you have the audio for phone calls going through either your speakers or your Garmin device. It's a manual setting, not something that is done automatically.

Please try again later.Your Garmin has to be connected to your phone as well as Bluetooth use the guide me tool in the Garmin app or through Garmin to see if you are connected and make sure your audio is going through your car stereo you should be able to see audio out on your phone device or go in settings and choose which device you want your phone audio and music to output
