A:AnswerThis GPS is the second one I've had with voice command . The first didn't do a good job. It recognizes common locations, e.g. Costco, Safeway, MacDonald's, as well as the screen commands, like "Recent, Saved, Home, Exit, Up, Down, Back, etc., but otherwise does a terrible job with a street address. I've tried my new GPS and it is no better. You might try the voice control setup, which require that one read what is printed on the screen for a period of time. You will need to download the Garmin app to a smart phone. It probably takes about ten minutes; at least that is what I had to do with Alexa to train my voice. I been busy and have not done it yet on my new GPS. You will need figure it out for father in advance, and have him do the voice training, as only one voice/GPS can be trained on the Garmin device.
