Questionis this like a phone and will only work if you have good service? We ride atvs in the mountains and find that service is limited.

- Answer Hi, The device will still funcation even it has limited GPS signal. Today's GPS receivers are extremely accurate, thanks to their parallel multi-channel design. Certain atmospheric factors and other sources of error can affect the accuracy of GPS receivers. Garmin® GPS receivers are accurate to within 15 meters (49 feet) 95% of the time. Generally, users will see accuracy within 5 to 10 meters (16 to 33 feet) under normal conditions. Thanks Chris

QuestionDoes it have Topographic maps built in? If not, can I load topo maps into it?

QuestionCan you program latitude longitude coordinates and have the gps show you where they are located

- Answer The device works well with a free garmin program called base camp. You can pin point coordinates as a pin or wave point and upload that to the device via the usb cable provided. If you want to trace known trail routes in national parks for example I use the website Gaiagps.com. You can log in with Facebook and then save your traces routes as a gpx file then drag them to the device through base camp. Check out YouTube on how to use it, that’s where I learned. Hope that helps

QuestionWould this work for horse back riding also? I am terrible at directions, so need something to find my way riding alone or map out a route for future rides. Can you save and name a route if there are multiply routes you want to save for future riding?

The Area Calculation feature is a type of specialized track that once a designated area has been navigated, the device will give a calculation total for that area. QuestionWould this GPS device be easy to use for geocaching? Would the 22 Etrex be just as good for that purpose? Can we download the geocaching.com maps and coordinates on it? Easy to see and use with arrow and distance to the cache is what we want.

- Answer Yes, the eTrex Touch 35 can mark fishing spots by waypoints. Waypoints are locations you record and store in the device. Waypoints can mark where you are, where you are going, or where you have been. You can add details about the location, such as name, elevation, and depth.
