• A:Answer No the iPhone does not allow this process. Only with an Apple Watch can you do this. It’s a function of Apple locking down this capability to only their own product line. Note that using a Garmin to respond to texts CAN be done with an Android device (using a set of pre-written responses, not free form). So the limitation on the Apple side is not a Garmin issue or item to resolve - it’s that Apple limits this function. And of course that’s their own decision right to do, obviously.

Q: QuestionCan this watch send an emergency alert/SOS of any kind when you are not in range of cellular service? And also not in range of any similar devices? I’m thinking of my wife and I hiking/camping in the wilderness and having an emergency.

• A:Answer The Fenix 6 Pro Solar features incident detection can trigger emergency contacts when it detects a sudden drastic deceleration or impact while recording a timed GPS activity. When such an incident occurs, the Garmin Connect app on your paired smartphone can send an automated text message and email with your name and GPS location to up to three of your emergency contacts. Incident detection and Assistance should not be relied on as a primary method to obtain emergency assistance. The Garmin Connect app does not contact emergency services on your behalf. • A:Answer I'm not sure about the backtrack feature: I'm guessing that it doesn't since I can't find anything in the user manual regarding that. The watch comes with a quick start sheet which is very basic; but there is an easily downloadable user manual which is quite comprehensive.
