• A:Answer In an activity profile you may view up to 3 data fields at one time. You may have 2 data screens set up and those screens set to scroll so you could view all those fields. However, outside of an activity you would see the time of day. Debbie with Garmin

• A:Answer Yes, it will record the activity if GPS is acquired and the activity can be uploaded to Garmin Connect and you'll see a map of the route. As well, GPS accuracy can depend on the area where you are riding. If you are riding in an area with tall building, heavy tree cover, or close to airport, train tracks, docks where ships use communication it may come into play with the GPS accuracy. For the most part GPS is pretty accurate. Debbie with Garmin

• A:Answer If you use the GPS outdoors you do not need a sensor for pace. As well, if you run outdoors with the device several times the device gets to understand your style of running and indoors it would use an accelerometer for pace if running on an indoor track or treadmill. Debbie with Garmin

• A:Answer You are able to use the Forerunner 235 without using a smartphone. You will not miss out on any training/activity tracking features. You would only not be able to use the smart notifications/wireless syncing features.

• A:Answer I expect this is to preserve battery life. The Microsoft Band had a LED-like screen and the watch could barely last a very long GPS run over 2 hours. The 235 will last that long even if you charged it 4 days before.

• A:Answer Yes, while setting up your 235, it'll look for a Bluetooth enabled smart device and when it locates one, it will display a code for you to enter on the screen of your 5S and up. Once connected, it'll automatically recognize it from now on. Use the Garmin Connect app for a more easily configurable setup between the two devices.
