• A:Answer This Heart Rate Monitor strap would not be compatible with the Forerunner 301. The Forerunner 301 had a heart rate monitor that was specific to that device and would not pair with any other product.

Q: QuestionIs the heart rate continuous or does it just give an average heart rate? Is is suitable for swimming? Thanks.

• A:Answer The heart rate monitor gives you your real time heart rate. It's is very responsive and does not lag with your changing heart rate. I connect mine to my garmin vivoactive, where it also gives me my average HR, lowest HR and my max HR. I haven't tried it swimming but I remember reading that it does not work submerged in water. It is water proof, it just won't transmit under water. Hope that helps
