When it's connected to your computer open the old GPS device with a double click from my computer; it would be similar to opening a USB drive. Browse to the garmins current.gpx file copy it to the desktop and save it as oldnuvi.gpx. Drop that in your new garmin in the same place as its current .gpx file and then when you view all saved places it will have all your old saves.

Their handy program helps you transfer waypoints, add different icons, and even new voices (There are some cool free ones on Garmin, and you can buy celebrity impersonators on other sites!).
