“What's the lowest time difference between traffic updates received by this ? I saw one GPS description (don't remember which model) that claimed to get traffic updates every 30 seconds. Does anyone know the spec for this 2689LMT model ? Thx all.”

Traffic data refreshes every 5 minutes with a standard traffic subscription, which is included in the nuvi 2689LMT. Devices packaged with an HD traffic receiver (labeled as LMTHD) can refresh as often as every 30 seconds within designated coverage areas. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The HD Traffic, which updates every 30 seconds, is NOT standard on this model. (The model that ends with 99 instead of 89 includes HD traffic) This has a less advanced traffic service that updates every 30 minutes I think. If you have an older Garmin GPS that uses HD traffic, you can use that cig. lighter power cable and upgrade this model to HD traffic (It also provides live weather). It is the power cable that determines the level of traffic service, not the main unit.
