I am looking at the Garmin GPS Nuvi 56LMT. When the specs say lifetime traffic, is there a FM Transmitter built into the power cord to receive traffic updates? How does it receive traffic up dates?”

LMT designation actually stands for Lifetime Maps & Traffic. Somehow, it's built into the power cord. It receives updates the someway your current one does.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The traffic receiver is built into the nüvi 56LMT, but there is a traffic antenna built into the cable. This means, the hardware is in the device but you will have to use the cable to get reception.
