There is no fee to function this watch.

No! You need to download the Garmin Connect app to sync stuff, it's free to use. I think it's useful to pair it with another training app like Training Peaks (and the plans on there do cost money) but the watch itself doesn't have any subscription fee.

There is no fee to this watch which is something very nice.
