Yes, the vivoactive HR will use it's built-in GPS to measure speed and distance when recording a running activity. In addition to speed and distance, you will also be able to view time, pace, cadence, heart rate, and more. When running indoors, since GPS is usually difficult to acquire, the device can use the motion of your arm to measure distance instead. Best Regards, -OA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't run with it, but have walked. It has a GPS and I just choose walk and press the button. It starts measuring distance, steps, calories burned, and time. Works great. You just press the button when you are done and you can save or discard. I save it to my Garmin connect and that way I can compare all my stats.
