• There is a dial that turns to lock/unlock it. There are 3 parts that interlock, one on each side of the center piece which twists to lock in place. I have had the outermost piece pop out of the band a little, but never have had the band actually come off

• Yes and no! The clasp works, but i would reather have a watch type of strap. It has a few times when my vivo fit 3 has slip off my wrist. I believe it may have happen due to me rushing to put the strap on. Just make sure it is propley pushed down in place before you turn from red to black.
