Q: Is the vivofit 3 waterproof? Can it be in the water/pool for a long amount of time?
A: I wear mine in the pool for 30+ minutes at a time. Works great there an in the ocean. I never take it off!

Q: What size wrist does the XL band fit?
A: Please see the band sizes below. Regular Band for a wrist circumference between 5.4–8.1” / 135–205 mm X-Large Band for a wrist circumference between 6.5–8.9” / 165–225 mm Debbie with Garmin
Q: Is there any metal touching the skin on the inside?
A: Nope. The brains of the vivofit 3 tracker sits inside a pocket of the band. So your skin only touches the band and the plastic clasp.
Q: How do I replace the battery?
A: If you choose to replace the battery yourself, you'll pull on one side of the band and pop the vivofit 3 device out of the band's pocket. Flip the vivofit 3 device over to locate the screw heads. Then you'll need to unscrew 4 small screws with a jewelers Philips screwdriver, remove the cover and swap out the battery. Then reverse your steps (install cover, put the 4 screws back, slip the vivofit 3 device back into the pocket of the band. You can probably take it to a watch place to have them replace the battery for a small fee.
Q: Does it track your heart rate Without buying anything else
A: No. You need to purchase a separate heart rate monitor. Garmin sells an ANT+ connected chest band heart rate monitor.
Q: Can you buy replacement bands for this?
A: They are available on Best Buy and other online retailers. I think they were 2-3 to a package and a variety of colors and styles.
A: Yes it will track calories from other forms of exercise; however, this one is much different from the first one I bought. I noticed while riding in my truck it goes off stating the I’ve hit my “steps” goal after a five hour trip...which doesn’t make any sense. I wouldn’t recommend this style of the Vivo-smart 3 . I hope this helps with your decision.
