Yes. You have to sync it to the phone app to get accurate GPS data. Double tap watch, scroll over and down to bicycling, then double tap. Watch pings phone and once accepted on phone screen (hassle currently wearing a mask) tap watch to start tracking. At end of ride tap watch again to end tracking. Phone app is data rich and tracks all kinds of good data, like mapping, speed stats, elevation, heart rate, blood oxygen and heart rate zones. The app has nice colored graphics and some good context specific guides.
Yes, you can use the app to set up your activities. I haven't used mine for the biking activity yet, but I was able to add it to my list. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
